Due to continued growth within the global service team, we have an exciting vacancy for a Field Service Engineer in North Italy.
Responsibilities
- Work on a stand‑alone basis, maintain team spirit and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Having full responsibility, within a territory, to deliver world class service to our customers.
- Install, maintain, and use expert troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues on a variety of roundness and surface finish measuring instruments.
- Provide remote call pre‑qualification and attempt remote fix wherever possible.
- Be the focal point for customer issues and technical enquiries.
- Document and report technical issues where necessary.
- Provide training as required to customers and local distributors.
- Look for opportunities and report wherever possible.
Essential & Desirable Skills
- Have a good grounding in mechanical/electronic or multi‑disciplined engineering.
- Ability to read, interpret and analyse schematics, assembly drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Ideally, previous experience of working in a technical customer‑facing role; recent graduates are welcome to apply.
- Interact with and provide feedback to internal stakeholders including technical support teams, manufacturing, and R&D.;
- Build trust relationships with our customers.
- Have good computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Hold a valid & clean driving license.
- Can work alone while representing Taylor Hobson at customer sites.
- Be prepared to work flexible hours when required.
- Be prepared to assist colleagues in other regions of the world when required.
Skills & Experience
- High energy level with ability to take initiative.
- Experience within a matrix management environment.
- Teamwork oriented with collaborative style, pragmatic, multitasking, flexible.
- Computer fluent, with specific attention to e‑mail and Microsoft Office product skills; CRM and service tools.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to interact effectively.
- Follow set procedures but can identify when change is required.
Requirements
- Mechanical/electrical or electronic service expert.
- Proven experience in high demand B2B customer service.
- Based in the following regions: Lombardia, Piemonte or Emilia Romagna.
- English: good communication skills, written and spoken.
- Strong customer service attitude with a critical mindset.
- Good planning and organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, self‑motivated and a team player.
