Responsibilities
* Creating the requirements for new and current products to permit the design and validation of the electrical hardware and control software of the combine harvester.
* Providing embedded software solutions (C/C++ or model-based) to ensure superior performance, durability, reliability, and quality.
* Developing and maintaining machine control software and GUI applications based on C/C++ and model-based code; assisting testers, engineers, or other departments with problem analysis and resolution.
* Creating system detailed design specifications and interface control specifications for functional systems.
* Conducting requirements specification design reviews, risk analysis, and system DFMEAs; coordinating safety reviews according to ISO 25119.
* Defining and validating integration of internal and external supplier components into harvesting equipment.
* Specifying required sensors or developing sensors with internal and external suppliers; interfacing with electrical and mechanical design teams to define required interfaces and requirements.
Qualifications
* Knowledgeable about machinery, automotive, aviation, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems; experience defining software and hardware interfaces.
* Knowledge of CAN Bus communication for agricultural machinery (e.g., ISO 11789, SAE J1939).
* Knowledge of safety standards for machinery (e.g., ISO 12100, ISO 25119); experience with software version control tools (e.g., SVN, GitHub) and application lifecycle management tools (e.g., Polarion). Experience in a structured development environment and with Vector CANoe or CANalyzer.
* Experience developing real‑time embedded machine control software using C and C++ and with object‑oriented software development.
* A bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical/electronics, mechanical, or agricultural engineering.
* At least 2 years of experience in development or validation of off‑road or agricultural equipment, automotive, and aircraft.
