Our main areas of activity include :
* Processing satellite, aerial, and drone data for cartography and geo-information production;
* Continuous satellite monitoring of the Earth's surface, infrastructures, worksites, urban dynamics, and marine coastal areas to support decision-making and operational activities
* Designing and developing Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI) for geospatial data archiving, management, and sharing
* Creating real-time geo-location solutions using positioning systems such as GPS / Galileo / GNSS and indoor location systems
* Developing software for satellite on-board data and image processing and ground segment infrastructures.
Role and Responsibilities
The challenge of a Geoservices Technical Specialist - Protected Category Under Law 68 / 99 at Planetek Italia:
* Assist in documenting and managing project tasks to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of assigned projects.
* Support project / task / deliverable reviews to maintain technical quality and product delivery.
* Contribute to the preparation of technical proposals for tenders.
* Assist in preparing and delivering reports on time.
* Communicate and coordinate with various stakeholders and partners to support project activities.
Your Background
* Basic understanding of GIS and EO concepts, including projections, data management, formats, and metadata.
* Foundational knowledge of GIS and EO techniques for processing and analyzing geospatial datasets, particularly satellite-derived imagery.
* Experience or coursework with EO / GIS software applications, such as ERDAS Imagine, QGIS, and ArcGIS.
* Familiarity with scripting programs and spatial libraries, particularly Python and R.
* Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with a variety of stakeholders and partners.
* Some experience or coursework in preparing publications, technical reports, or technical offers for tenders.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to applied techniques and processes.
* Proficiency in Italian and English is essential.
