By guiding stewardship, consultation, research, and project development with integrity and cultural grounding, this role ensures that natural resource decisions strengthen Rights Title, support community priorities, and create long-term benefits for future generations. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 pThe Natural Resources Manager provides strategic leadership that protects Tl’azt’en Nation’s lands, waters, wildlife, and cultural values while advancing responsible development opportunities. By coordinating stewardship, research, consultation, and departmental operations, this role strengthens Rights Title, supports informed decision-making, and ensures that natural resource initiatives uphold the Nation’s long-term interests and sustainability. /p ul liLeads strategic and operational planning by identifying priority natural resource initiatives, directing research, and ensuring progress is monitored and reported to strengthen long-term stewardship and decision‑making. /li liOversees departmental budgeting, funding agreements, and financial reporting to ensure accurate, responsible, and compliant management of all natural resource finances. /li liDirects and evaluates all lands and natural resource programs—including GIS, assessments, reporting, and stewardship guidance—to protect Rights Title and uphold responsible resource management across Tl’azt’en territory. /li liBuilds strong relationships with community members, partners, and external bodies through engagement, consultation, and transparent communication that reflects community priorities and protects culturally significant areas. /li liDevelops and enforces strategies, policies, and controls that ensure all natural resource activities comply with relevant legislation, treaties, privacy, and security standards. /li liLeads, mentors, and supports staff to ensure a safe, skilled, and productive team capable of delivering high‑quality natural resource programs and services. /li liCultivates a coaching and mentoring culture that empowers staff through feedback, capacity building, and continuous improvement. /li liCollaborates with other Tl’azt’en Nation departments to integrate health considerations into broader community‑development strategies. /li liAttends leadership meetings, contributes to strategic planning, and ensures health programs align with the Nation’s overall vision and goals. /li /ul h3What You Bring /h3 pThis role is the strategic anchor for protecting Tl’azt’en Nation’s lands, waters, and Rights Title—driving stewardship, governance, and sustainable development with integrity, cultural grounding, and clear leadership.
