Your role
We are looking for an R&D Concept Lab Manager who will join our R&D Department.
This role will join the Concept Lab, an R&D Mechanical Engineering team focused on creating new concepts of hinges, nose-pads, temple-tips, temples, clip-ons, and all small functional details in an eyewear frame.
Main responsibilities:
* Project Development Supervision: Supervise the management of concurrent projects, balancing loads and timings according to constraints.
* Concept Group Management: Lead and support a team of 4 FTEs in developing eyewear mechanical concepts, managing projects, priorities, and resources.
* Support and Tutoring: Provide technical and professional support to overcome obstacles and expedite development.
* Networking: Lead discussions with other company functions related to product development such as Product and Brand Management, Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, and Controlling.
* Supplier Management: Define and develop a network of external partners to support concept development at various stages.
* Budgeting: Define the yearly budget considering team and project needs.
* Product-oriented mindset: Focus on final customer needs.
* Timing focus: Define actions to meet timing constraints.
* Innovator mentality: Focus on investigating new concepts and techniques and implementing them efficiently.
Main requirements:
* Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design Engineering
* Experience leading a team of R&D Engineers
* Previous experience in product design, luxury automotive, or fashion accessories industry is a plus
* Project Management

* Mechanical Design and Engineering expertise
