Satellite Navigation System Engineer
Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), is a global space manufacturer dedicated to high‑tech solutions for telecommunications, navigation, Earth observation, and more. We are looking for a Navigation System Engineer to join our End‑to‑End Navigation System department in Italy, reporting directly to the Head of Department.

Responsibilities
* Support the execution of key programs such as GALILEO, Moonlight, and LEO PNTIod.
* Contribute to the acquisition of new business opportunities.
* Foster research and development activities in the satellite navigation domain.
* Analyze and understand customer needs through advanced studies, simulations, and prototypes.
* Formalize specifications and architecture to propose the best solution/product.
* Prepare and conduct integration, verification, and validation tests.
* Define test plans and procedures for system‑level testing.
* Ensure technical integration and coherence of system design, interfaces, and performance.
* Design the architecture of the command and control system.
* Demonstrate solutions to customers.
* Support the growth of engineering department activities, including new contract acquisition and strategic planning.
* Participate in R&D activities through new studies and proposal execution.
* Collaborate with universities for thesis and internship follow‑up.
* Attend international meetings and conferences worldwide.
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in electronics, telecommunications, computer science, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
* 5+ years of experience in Satellite Navigation and/or Communication Systems.
* Knowledge of basic telecommunication principles (propagation, access schemes, modulation).
* Familiarity with System Engineering tools (MBSE, Requirement Management, Simulation, Matlab, etc.).
* Experience in leading engineering projects or activities.
* Strong team‑working, problem‑solving, and proactive attitude.
* Capacity to adapt and react to change.
Language
Fluent English, spoken and written.
