Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, South Europe, the Finance Manager is responsible for accurate and timely Financial Accounting, Reporting, Statutory Control Compliance along with managing the statutory and accounting requirements for corporate headquarter reporting for European entities as required. The candidate will be a key contributor to the forecast planning processes, working with the European business unit(s) to enable an understanding of local financial performance and developing consistent, concise forecasts and plans.
How will you create impact?
1. Business partnering, supporting Italian and Greek management teams as required in understanding their financial data and performance, including the preparation of ad hoc reports.
2. Ultimate responsibility for financial control reporting on a day-to-day basis.
3. Ensure that the financial reporting function prepares and delivers, in accordance with Group Reporting timelines and high-quality standards, IFRS based financial reporting to the Company’s parent.
4. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial and management reporting;
5. Manage reporting of financial information to Corporate Headquarters, including actuals/budget/forecast submission and reporting of performance against objectives.
6. Preparation of the bi-weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts for the Italian markets, including variance analyses to previous submissions.
7. Review and certify account reconciliations via the Blackline tool.
8. Review inter-company reconciliations.
9. Ensures cost effectiveness and adherence to cost budgets across the company.
10. Manage the accounting process for various transactions.
11. Liaise with external tax advisors to prepare the VAT, WHT and CIT returns.
12. Liaise with Shared Services in Bratislava and corporate functions of Accounting Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Internal Controls Audit, IT, and Indirect Procurement.
13. Preparation of Statutory Accounts and compliance with local GAAP.
14. Driving continuous improvement and step changes in processes to deliver a more efficient and effective financial reporting and analysis.
15. Maintain compliance with company process, controls and procedures to ensure organizational risks are minimized.
16. Lead, motivate and develop direct reports as required.
17. Ensure compliance with applicable local regulatory laws for financial and tax reporting, incl. Edoc management.
18. Establishes and maintains appropriate and effective internal controls;
19. Support and manage the SAP Upgrade to latest version of SAP S/4 Hana cloud (ShERPa Project), ensuring that Italy requirements are incorporated in the system design, while working closely with the Manager Europe SAP Implementation Lead, the SAP S/4 Solution Team, and with colleagues across the Spin Master organization in Europe and North America.
20. Support other projects that are linked to ShERPa project (Anaplan and Blackline II) to ensure that these are implemented for Italy and Greece in line with business requirements.
21. Assists in any other projects and the development of the Spin Master business in Europe.
How will you fit into the team?
The Finance Analyst, Italy will report to the Finance Manager.
What are your skills and experience?
22. Qualified Accounting Professional with minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience preferably in the International/European FMCG or Fashion industries.
23. Experience working with SAP and Business Intelligence
24. Proficiency in SAP (2017), proficiency in SAP4/Hana will be an advantage
25. Experience in SAP implementation will be an advantage
26. Good knowledge of Excel
27. In-depth knowledge in accounting (IFRS, local GAAP) and controlling, risk management and taxation;
28. Excellent skills in English and Italian
29. Good communication skills, rigorous, organised and able to work collaboratively with commercial and finance teams and manage people;
30. Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and work independently;
31. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
32. Ability to travel for business purposes as required
