Job Description
Amazon Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) works on electrical, mechanical, and control system commissioning for AWS data center facilities, ensuring all infrastructure meets design intent and operates at the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Provide testing and validation oversight of all AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
Review design documents, vendor submittals, and operational sequences to provide feedback aligned with Amazon standards.
Lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT) and conduct system‑level and integrated system testing.
Manage commissioning vendors, identify and resolve issues, and document findings.
Continuously audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
Produce comprehensive weekly status reports and lessons‑learned documentation.
Coordinate with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders, escalating risks as needed.
Physical and Travel Requirements
Walk job sites with uneven terrain; work at heights and from ladders.
Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Lift or move up to 49 lbs; participate in group lifts for 50 lbs or more.
Work shifts longer than eight hours with potential night and weekend work.
Operate in noisy, cold, or hot environments.
Travel domestically and internationally for up to 80% of the year; provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience in engineering, installation, or commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or 5+ years of relevant discipline work experience.
High technical competency in mechanical, electrical or control systems used in critical infrastructures; ability to learn and be trained in others.
Ability to understand design intent from drawings, specifications, vendor submittals and operational sequences and provide feedback in accordance with Amazon standards.
Experience reviewing or developing commissioning documentation such as test plans, scripts, and reports.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and SharePoint (or similar).
Strong communication skills; detail oriented, highly organized; able to work in high‑stress environments.
Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical and controls systems for critical infrastructures.
Familiarity with reading and editing construction documents (design drawings, control diagrams, specifications).
Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components based on design intent and approved equipment submittals.

Base salary range: USD 116,800.00 – 160,000.00 annually.
