RINA is currently recruiting for a Railway RAMS Engineer to join its office in ROME, GENOA, NAPLES OR MILAN within the Electronics and Systems Engineering Division.
Mission
The RAMS Engineer focuses on contributing to the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety of transportation systems. You'll support in implementing RAMS processes, analyzing data, and supporting project stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
* Supporting RAMS Process Management:
* Support the implementation and coordination of RAMS processes across project phases.
* Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards in developing RAMS deliverables.
* Conducting Risk Analysis and Assessment:
* Contribute to conducting risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential hazards and safety risks.
* Utilize RAMS methodologies such as FMECA, event tree analysis, and fault tree analysis to assess risk impacts.
* Managing Documentation and Deliverables:
* Contribute to the development and review of key RAMS deliverables like safety plans and hazard logs.
* Maintain accurate documentation throughout project phases.
* Collaborating with Stakeholders:
* Work closely with project teams, suppliers, operators, and relevant authorities.
* Participate in safety-related meetings and coordinate safety efforts.
* Testing and Commissioning:
* Contribute to ensuring safety requirements are met during the testing and commissioning phases.
* Review and assess test plans to validate system reliability and safety.
* Reporting and Communication:
* Provide updates on RAMS activities to project managers and stakeholders.
* Communicate safety-related issues and recommendations effectively.
Education
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electronic/TLC Engineering
Qualifications
RAMS Analysis Techniques:
* Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
* Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
* Event Tree Analysis (ETA)
* Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD)
Standards & Regulations Knowledge:
* EN 50126 (RAMS Lifecycle in Railways)
* EN 50128 (Software Safety in Railways)
* EN 50129 (Safety-Related Electronic Systems in Railways)
* IEC 61508 (Functional Safety)
* CENELEC Standards
* International Safety Certification Requirements
Risk & Safety Assessment Tools:
* Hazard Logs & Risk Matrices
* ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) Principles
* SIL (Safety Integrity Level) Assessments
Software & Tools:
* Reliability Software: ReliaSoft, RAM Commander
* Modeling & Simulation: MATLAB, Simulink
* Failure Databases: FRACAS (Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System)
