Job Description : This is a full-time, on-site position located at Amendola Air Base, Italy. It involves acting as the technical interface between Lockheed Martin’s Aeronautics Field Sustainment team and the on-site customer (both operations and maintenance) for all matters related to the F-35 aircraft. The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving issues arising from maintenance or modification activities. The role can be divided into two areas : Manage Field Support Engineers (FSE) and assigned personnel at the base. Provide on-site support as requested by the customer, site manager, and program management. Ensure compliance with technical direction and contractual requirements. Ensure all support is provided in-line with Service Airworthiness Guidance and F-35 program technical data. Oversee compliance with the F-35 export workflow and associated export licenses. Manage employee selection / hiring, training, performance assessments, and customer relations. Nose to Tail (NTT) FSE Responsibilities : Be a subject matter expert (SME) in Vehicle Systems / APG, with desired expertise in Avionics / Mission Systems (MS) and Supportable Low Observable (SLO) / Structures. Troubleshoot and analyze technical difficulties in the field. Attend debriefings to identify emerging issues and prevent downtime. Document unusual operational / maintenance problems. Initiate Action Requests (ARs) to resolve unique operational problems. Provide training to customer personnel. Collaborate with maintainers and engineers from other F-35 companies. Provide on-site support for aircraft ground maintenance and operational limitations. Lead and track multiple engineering efforts. Travel may be required to worldwide and hazardous duty locations. Must possess a Secret Security Clearance and be eligible for F-35 Special Program Access.
