To learn more about WFP, visit our website: and follow us on social media to keep up with our latest news:, ,, ,,. **JOB TITLE:** Network Detection & Security Engineer**TYPE OF CONTRACT:** Regular Consultant, Level 2**UNIT/DIVISION:** Information Security, Technology Division**DUTY STATION (City, Country):** Remote Work**BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:**Under the general supervision of the Chief TECI and the direct supervision of the Lead the Threat Detection and Response, the incumbent will define policies, standards, telemetry requirements, detections, and governance for network and IoT security. The role focuses on shaping the design authority, telemetry architecture, and operational reporting required to stand up WFP’s Network Detection and Response capability across priority sites.The incumbent will develop IoT trust tiers, NAC posture and exception criteria, segmentation patterns for high value zones and DNS security baselines. They will specify telemetry and profiling requirements for SIEM, SOAR, XDR and the new NDR sensors and cloud taps, build detection packs and playbooks for network borne threats and manage approvals, fallbacks and audit trails through change governance to ensure the NDR rollout is properly supported and governed.**ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:**Main responsibilities include, but not limited to:* Validate and monitor network and IoT security policies covering device trust tiers, NAC posture, segmentation patterns, and DNS layer protection.* Specify telemetry, profiling, and enrichment requirements for Detection & Response purposes, including asset identity, ownership, and criticality context.* Develop and tune detection logic for lateral movement, C2, rogue devices, misconfigurations and other behaviors identified through the NDR rollout.* Maintain governance for approvals, exception handling, fallbacks, and audit trails. Participate in change boards and production readiness reviews.* Coordinate periodic IoT vulnerability scans, security controls, and firmware baseline reviews with TECM, ensuring findings are triaged, tickets raised, and remediation tracked to closure.* Create dashboards and reports that show coverage, unmanaged device trends, policy drift, and response performance, and track actions to closure.* Oversee vulnerability assessments for defined IoT classes, define risk based IoT vulnerability SLAs and ensure findings drive policy updates and prioritized remediation.* Maintain RACI, runbooks, and lifecycle artifacts that link business drivers to controls and detections, and manage the improvement backlog with measurable targets.**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:****Education:**University Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer or Network Engineering, or a related field; or a combination of relevant experience and education.**Experience:*** At least 5 years in in cybersecurity or network architecture or security policy network engineering with a track record of designing network and IoT security controls and driving implementation. Prior experience defining NAC posture, segmentation patterns, and DNS layer policies is preferred. Experience with network telemetry pipelines or Network Detection and Response tooling, including sensor deployment, packet or flow analysis and detection tuning, is highly desirable.**Knowledge & Skills:*** Strong understanding of network and IoT security policy, device identity and profiling, segmentation and DNS layer protections.* Ability to translate policy into actionable requirements for NAC, controllers, and DNS security platforms, and to validate results through telemetry and detections.* Experience producing detection content and playbooks for network borne threats and integrating with SIEM and SOAR.* Familiarity with NDR concepts such as traffic visibility, flow and packet metadata, behavioural analytics and lateral movement detection, and the ability to tune detection logic in collaboration with relevant teams.* Governance expertise, including approvals, exception handling, fallbacks, and audit trail requirements.* Competence in measurement and reporting with dashboards that reflect coverage, exposure, and performance.* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across Cyber and Infrastructure teams.**Languages:**Fluency (level C) in English language.
