Join us in the Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering team. We maintain and optimize technologies in the global Amazon Warehouse & Delivery Network.
Purpose of the Job:
We are seeking motivated, customer-focused individuals to join us as Reliability Maintenance Engineering Area Managers. This role involves managing a team of engineering technicians, emphasizing safety through training, development, and coaching. The role also focuses on ensuring high equipment availability by conducting preventative maintenance and adhering to internal processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, support, and mentor the team to work safely, efficiently, and according to standards.
* Collaborate with the team and broader network to utilize technical expertise and develop solutions.
* Support the Reliability Engineering Manager in working with the Site Safety department and Site Leadership to implement safety and compliance programs, ensuring a safe working environment.
* Implement network standards and focus on preventative maintenance to ensure high equipment availability for internal customers.
* Organize and direct training programs to ensure sufficient technical coverage during shifts.
* Coordinate local projects or support EU-level projects as assigned.
* Be prepared to work on shifts to stay connected with the team and daily operations.
Basic Qualifications:
* Significant practical engineering experience, including supervisory roles managing people.
* Multiskilled in electrical and mechanical disciplines.
* Experience with automated equipment such as packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems.
* Ability to communicate effectively in English and the local language at CEFR Level B2 or higher.
* Experience adhering to health and safety standards and regulations.
* Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and CAD.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
* Full knowledge of specialized engineering and facilities equipment within the Fulfillment Center, including maintenance and safety procedures.
* Experience working with PLC-based control systems.
* Project management experience.
* Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) programs.
* Experience with Kaizen and Continuous Improvement processes.
