Part-time -
Every Weekend - Day shift
Brief Overview
Performs specimen procurement and/or processing of laboratory specimens. Provides laboratory support functions.
Responsibilities
* Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards.
* Performs computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting, and phlebotomy.
* Processes specimens for laboratory testing.
Additional Responsibilities
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Complies with all policies and standards.
* Follow departmental documentation for specific duties and responsibilities.
* Abides by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI), with annual training and policies in place.
Qualifications
Education
* High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
* Formal training from an accredited phlebotomy school or medical assistant program
Work Experience
* Less than 1 year entry-level experience; step increase upon successful completion of competencies after a minimum of 6 months training (Required)

* Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers.
* Responsible for self-development.
* Working knowledge of preanalytic laboratory and safety policies.
* Displays initiative in performing duties.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
* Competent in venipuncture for all ages.
Licenses and Certifications
* Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) upon hire.
Physical Demands
* Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
* Occasional climbing, balancing, crawling.
* Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs frequently.
