We’re looking for an experienced .NET developer (min 7yrs+ experience) to join our Cork office on a contract basis. You’ll work on a large-scale enterprise application and collaborate closely with other developers and project managers to build a robust and high-performing system. Our current focus is expanding a web portal—originally built on AWS—to also run smoothly on Microsoft Azure. Your role will involve updating the existing .NET code to support both platforms. This includes creating a cloud-agnostic layer that makes the system easier to maintain, portable, and scalable across clouds.
The Senior developer within 8 West Consulting takes a very active role on a project team, at both the technical design and code level, and at client and end user interfaces.
Responsibilities
· Requirements Analysis & Application Design
· Providing accurate estimates and timings to project managers
· Daily interaction with clients to facilitate successful project implementation.
· Becoming a subject matter expert on client business processes, for example claims pricing and payment, provider networks and group/member structures
· Delivery of application development using standard web development methodologies
· Mentoring other developers within a project team & Peer code review
· Self-motivating toward on time delivery of high-quality outputs
· Ensuring all QA procedures are satisfied in terms of process and documentation
· Adhere toand promote internal information security policies and procedures
Technical Profile
Must Have:
· Extensive commercial development experience in .Net 4.8, .NET Core, and MVC 5
· Excellent knowledge of MS SQL Server including Strong T-SQL (Stored Procedure) skills
Nice to have:
· Azure experience favourable
· AWS Cloud experience
Personal Profile
· Ability to work independently as well as part of team
· Ability to learn new business areas quickly
· Technical degree or equivalent experience
· Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
· Desire to develop your own knowledge by keeping abreast of latest development tools and techniques, attending workshops and reviewing technical publications
· Please note this is a daily rate contract position. Candidates who apply must be eligible to work in Ireland holding either EU Citizenship or appropriate visa. Visa is required in advance of applying for this position. 8 West Consulting do not provide sponsorship for this role
