The role includes installation method development, marine spread engineering, analysis, offshore support, and multi-discipline coordination. /ppInstallation Engineering Method Development /pulliDevelop installation methodologies for S-lay/barge lay, shore approach, tie-in spools, and jumpers. /liliPerform engineering calculations: catenary, tension, MBR control, stress/strain, on-bottom stability. /liliReview metocean limits and operational weather windows. /liliPrepare trenching, jetting, and burial methods. /li /ulpOffshore Execution Support /pulliSupport offshore mobilization, deck setup, welding spread arrangement. /liliMonitor real-time installation parameters (tension, layback, speed). /liliCoordinate with vessel crew, ROV, and survey teams. /liliResolve offshore engineering issues during operations. /li /ulpInstallation Procedures Documentation /pulliPrepare installation procedures, work packs, method statements. /liliDevelop risk assessments, lifting plans, and touchdown monitoring procedures. /liliReview contractor procedures for compliance with project requirements. /li /ulpInterface Coordination /pulliInterface with pipeline design for MBR, loads, coating and free-span limits. /liliInterface with subsea structures for tie-in, lifting, and handling requirements. /liliInterface with umbilical/FOC and controls teams for routing and combined lay. /liliInterface with marine and survey teams for UXO clearance, route verification, and as-built surveys. /li /ulpMarine Spread Selection Planning /pulliSupport selection of lay barges, anchor spreads, and marine support vessels. /liliReview stinger/roller setups and tensioner capability. /liliPlan shallow-water anchor patterns and vessel maneuvering constraints. /li /ulpTrenching, Protection Post-Lay Activities /pulliReview trenching/jetting/ploughing techniques. /liliPlan pipeline protection (mattresses, rock dumping). /liliSupport post-lay survey review and free-span remediation. /li /ulpHSE Risk Management /pulliParticipate in HAZID/HAZOP and constructability workshops. /liliDevelop SIMOPS plans for marine operations. /liliEnsure all installation activities comply with HSE and marine assurance requirements. /li /ulpTechnical Requirements /pulliKnowledge of pipeline installation engineering: catenary, MBR, stability, tension control. /liliUnderstanding of shallow-water constraints and surf-zone challenges. /liliProficiency with OrcaFlex, PipeLay, Offpipe, MathCAD, and route planning tools. /liliKnowledge of pipeline materials, coatings, buckle arrestors, and field joints. /liliFamiliarity with trenching, protection, and tie-in systems. /li /ulpQualifications Experience /pulliBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Marine, Offshore, or related Engineering. /lili8–10 years’ experience in subsea pipeline installation engineering. /liliExperience in shallow-water S-lay/barge lay operations. /liliOffshore installation support experience preferred. /liliKnowledge of DNV-ST-F101, DNV-RP-F109, API RP 1111 standards. /li /ulpb9-Material Engineer /b /ppb Shallow-Water Subsea Pipeline Scheme /b /ppThe Material Engineer is responsible for material selection, corrosion control, welding and coating specifications, QA/QC, and technical assurance for subsea pipelines and associated subsea structures in a shallow-water development. The role ensures compliance with industry standards, project requirements, and long-term integrity needs. /ppMaterial Selection Engineering /pulliDevelop material selection reports for linepipe, fittings, PLET/PLEM structures, CRA materials, and flanges. /liliDefine corrosion allowances, pressure/temperature class requirements. /liliEnsure compliance with DNV-ST-F101, API 5L, ISO 13628, and API 17D standards. /li /ulpCorrosion Engineering Protection Systems /pulliDefine internal and external corrosion protection strategies. /liliReview CP design calculations, anode systems, and coating specifications. /liliEvaluate inhibitor/MEG/CI requirements and corrosion risk assessments. /li /ulpWelding Engineering Fabrication Support /pulliReview WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications. /liliSupport weld overlay, clad systems, and heat treatment requirements. /liliReview NDT requirements and weldability evaluations. /li /ulpCoating Field Joint Protection /pulliDefine external coating systems and field joint coating (FJC) requirements. /liliReview coating procedures, qualification testing, and mechanical protection (CWC, anti-buckle sleeves). /li /ulpPipeline Integrity Technical Assurance /pulliReview fracture toughness, sour service suitability, fatigue performance, and material traceability. /liliParticipate in integrity reviews, audits, and resolve NCRs. /liliSupport failure investigation and root-cause analysis. /li /ulpInterface Management /pulliInterface with pipeline, structures, umbilical/controls, fabrication yards, and installation teams. /liliEnsure alignment of material specifications across disciplines. /li /ulpVendor Qualification Manufacturing Oversight /pulliReview linepipe mills, CRA vendors, bends, and coating plants. /liliParticipate in FAT, mill testing (DWTT, Charpy, CTOD), and coating trials. /liliMonitor compliance with ITPs/QCPs and QA documentation. /li /ulpTechnical Competence Requirements /pulliStrong knowledge of metallurgy (carbon steel, alloy steel, duplex/Super Duplex). /liliExpertise in internal/external corrosion and CP design. /liliKnowledge of offshore coating and insulation systems (FBE, 3LPE, PP). /liliExperience with welding metallurgy, HAZ control, and NDT techniques. /liliFamiliarity with DNV-ST-F101, API 5L, ISO 15156/NACE MR0175, and API 17D standards. /li /ulpQualifications Experience /pulliBachelor’s degree in Materials, Metallurgy, Mechanical, or Corrosion Engineering. /lili12 years’ experience in subsea/offshore materials engineering. /liliExperience with linepipe mills, coating yards, and offshore FJC. /liliStrong technical communication and QA/QC background. /li /ul
