This position will be located in the Kansai area. Amazon seeks a Senior Operations Manager to join our Japan Amazon Logistics team. The goal of Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is to build a world class last mile operation delivering to customers. Amazon aims to exceed the expectations of our customers by ensuring that their orders are delivered as quickly, accurately, and in the most cost effective way as possible and we are expanding rapidly in Japan.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance, customer experience and people development for all delivery station operations.
* Drive vision for station team and create quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other lean initiatives to enable functional area and ultimately the DS to meet and exceed business plan.
* Problem‑solve for closing gaps between performance and goals.
* Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measure performance, provide feedback and hold Ops Managers accountable.
* Manage day‑to‑day relationships with multiple Delivery Service Providers (DSPs) and present operational metrics regularly to senior leadership.
* Hire and develop top talent; create and implement a talent plan including acquisition, performance, career management, learning and development, succession planning and employee engagement.
* Leverage Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas and rolling them into improvement plans.
* Cultivate strong culture and engagement throughout all levels of the delivery station team.
* Work with key business partners such as Transport & Sortation, DSP Management, Finance, Loss Prevention, IT, HR, ACES and Engineering to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.

Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
* 10+ years of Operations experience (supply chain, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, retail, etc.).
* Experience to lead/manage a team of 10+ people and develop them.
* Business level English.
Preferred Qualifications
* Strong operations experience in a fast growing company/industry.
* 15+ years of Operations experience (supply chain, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, retail, etc.).
* Previous experience leading a rapid expansion plan.
* Proven record of delivering multi programs on time.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Business level of Japanese.
