We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL DBA to manage and scale our mission-critical database infrastructure. With our rapid business growth, we need a skilled professional to ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of our PostgreSQL databases.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer and optimize PostgreSQL 14+ databases.
* Manage a multi-terabyte PostgreSQL database running on physical hardware.
* Handle backups, restores, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
* Support and optimize complex database structures, including triggers, stored procedures, and partitioning.
* Troubleshoot production performance issues quickly and effectively.
* Conduct performance tuning for a high-OLTP transaction database handling 100M+ transactions per day.
* Set up monitoring and alerts for disk space, CPU usage, and IO contention.
* Ensure database security through role-based and fine-grained access control.
* Work with PostgreSQL operators on Kubernetes for database management.
* Take initiative in identifying and resolving database issues proactively.
Upcoming Projects
* Migrate PostgreSQL 14 to PostgreSQL 16.
* Transition on-premise PostgreSQL to AWS.
* Optimize and migrate large historical tables (billions of rows) through partitioning and purging.
Required Skills & Experience
* Extensive PostgreSQL administration experience (v14+).
* Strong Linux expertise, particularly Debian, for production servers.
* Hands-on experience with performance tuning, high-transaction OLTP databases, and replication techniques.
* Advanced security knowledge and experience implementing access controls.
* Experience with Kubernetes-based PostgreSQL deployments.
* Self-motivated problem-solver with the ability to take initiative.
