We are currently seeking a Thermodynamic Engineer to join our dynamic team in Piove di Sacco (PD), Italy!
This role will be reporting to the Engineering Manager and will be focused on the Direct Expansion products for Data Center cooling. Thermodynamic Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and development of our innovative products, collaborating closely with Marketing, Procurement, Laboratory and Industrial Engineering teams and will be responsible for developing assigned projects in the Engineering Department, with a focus on thermodynamic designs, performance calculation, conceptual layouts etc.
What kind of work will you be doing?
* Design new Direct Expansion products for Data Center cooling, or re-engineer existing ones.
* Operational responsibility for thermodynamic design, components sizing and selection, performance calculations for assigned projects.
* Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on Direct Expansion cooling units, focusing on high-performance, cost-effective design and market leading innovation.
* Support product production transfer from and to other locations, interface with main center of expertise, understand and manage bill of materials.
* Facilitate cross-functional planning and project execution collaborating with, Marketing, Procurement, Laboratory and Industrial Engineering, being aware of the customer’s needs.
* Approve and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material, manuals).
* Project documentation and progress presentations to the management.
* Analyze and resolve technical problems related to products under his/her responsibility.
* Validate of HVAC components and system models with data laboratory tests.
* To meet objectives of cost, quality, time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needs.
* Ability to communicate effectively across all regions to enhance global designs.
What will make you successful?
* A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Energy Engineering or a related field is required, Master’s degree is preferred.
* 3-5 years of previous working experience in the HVAC industry, preferably on similar projects.
* Technical skills: good knowledge of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles are essential.
* Know-how of HVAC products, technical standards (i.e. CE, MD, PED) and manufacturing processes.
* English – Intermediate level – written and spoken.
* Initiative: highly motivated to initiate and accept new challenges.
* Result-oriented, team player, detail-oriented, flexible and proactive.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
