Position Overview :
The Technical Support Specialist ensures proper computer operations for end users to accomplish organizational tasks effectively and efficiently. This role involves receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and resolving end user help requests, using diagnostics and help request tracking tools, with hands-on support at the desktop level.
Key Responsibilities :
* Proactively monitor and support end user hardware and software needs promptly.
* Prioritize workload to address critical issues first.
* Install, upgrade, and configure hardware and software.
* Assist in testing new hardware and software before deployment.
* Configure, monitor, and maintain mobile security and virus protection software.
* Maintain hardware and software inventory records.
* Install, configure, and troubleshoot content management systems.
* Manage web environments, including internal and external websites, ensuring security, testing, and content integrity.
* Serve as backup for VOIP phone systems, cellphones, and printers/copiers.
* Create and maintain user documentation for help desk support.
* Keep equipment operational through repairs, following manufacturer instructions and procedures, and evaluating new equipment.
* Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
* Enhance job knowledge through ongoing education, reading, and networking.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory standards like HIPAA and licensing agreements.
* Participate in disaster preparedness planning for equipment and data security.
Qualifications :
High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s in Computer Science or IT preferred. At least 2 years in a technology-related role, helpdesk/support experience preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft products (Azure, Office 365, SharePoint) and operating systems. Strong troubleshooting and maintenance skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
