Call for Assistant Professor with tenure track to Associate Professor in the Physics Division of the Gran Sasso Science Institute: Experimental study of cosmic radiation (HE-EXP) The Physics Division of the Gran Sasso Science Institute (GSSI) invites applications for an Assistant Professor position with a tenure track to Associate Professor from highly qualified scholars worldwide. The focus is on the experimental study of cosmic radiation with space-based missions and related R&D activities. The GSSI Physics Division hosts scientists working on various subjects, including cosmic rays, multi-messenger and high-energy astrophysics, gravitation and cosmology, dark matter searches, and neutrinoless double beta decay. Annually, about 10 physics graduate students from around the world are admitted, with faculty responsibilities including teaching and supervising research in Astroparticle Physics. A new PhD program on “Innovative technologies for space missions and radiation detectors” has recently been added. More information on Physics research at GSSI can be found here: / > This call aims to identify scientists interested in joining the GSSI faculty. Candidates should have a strong background in experimental astroparticle physics related to high-energy cosmic radiation, with experience in ground and space-based experiments. Advanced knowledge of simulation techniques for complex experimental responses, data reconstruction, analysis, and machine learning tools is required. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in physics or related fields before appointment, demonstrate a proven research record, potential to lead research activities, and an interest in teaching graduate and postgraduate students. The RTT (Ricercatore Tenure Track) position, as per Italian law, involves a six-year fixed-term contract that cannot be renewed or extended.
