We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. The selected candidate will primarily work at the\nTelespazio Fucino Space Cente\nr, with opportunities for short- to medium-term assignments at other company or customer operational and engineering sites. The role focuses on ensuring the effective technical and operational use of systems within the\nSpace Mission Ground Segment\n, across telecommunications, remote sensing, and/or navigation domains.

Responsibilities
\n
\n
- Analyze system and operational requirements
\n
- Design, develop, and maintain software solutions
\n
- Manage software configuration and version control
\n
- Perform unit, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) system testing and validation
\n
- Ensure first- and second-level preventive and corrective maintenance for both software and hardware
\n
- Contribute to project documentation (e.g., manuals, architecture diagrams, user stories, test documentation)
\n
- Participate in technical reviews, progress meetings, and project discussions
\n
- Critically analyze input project documentation and produce Review Item Discrepancies (RIDs) where needed
\n
- Study and assess system administration manuals to develop in-depth knowledge of ground subsystems
\n
- Operate and use ground segment components to support operational readiness and maintenance procedures
\n
- Develop, validate, and maintain operational scripts based on system needs
\n
- Monitor the functional status of Ground Segment subsystems
\n
- Support operations, maintenance, and engineering activities for Space Mission Ground Segment environments
\n
- Produce operational reports for different missions
\n
- Troubleshoot anomalies and support contingency management
\n
\nQualifications\n
\n
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
\n
\nSkills & Experience\n
\n
- At least 2 years of professional experience in structured environments, working on backend web projects
\n
- Strong knowledge of:
\n
- Java (7/8), Spring, and Spring Boot
\n
- RESTful service design and backend architectures
\n
- Microservices architecture
\n
- Experience with frontend technologies and UI development
\n
- Proficiency with:
\n
- Angular
\n
- HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap, JSON, Python
\n
- Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN)
\n
- Familiarity with build and DevOps tools (Maven, Jenkins, Kafka)
\n
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
\n
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
\n
- Ability to use browser debugging tools
\n
- Understanding of UX/UI fundamentals
\n
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

- Ability to work effectively in team environments

- Availability for short-term assignments abroad
