The primary focus of this role is managing an international patent portfolio, including processing invention disclosures, drafting patent applications, and overseeing outside counsel. Additionally, responsibilities encompass the development, implementation, and supervision of patent policies, procedures, and processes company-wide, as well as handling patent-related matters for EMEA and designated Business Units. /p h3What kind of work will you be doing? /h3 ul liCoordinate and lead regular patent committee meetings to evaluate invention disclosures and patent applications in compliance with international corporate intellectual property (IP) guidelines. /li liOversee the international invention disclosure process and manage a global patent portfolio in alignment with corporate and European Patent Office (EPO) guidelines. /li liEstablish and implement an efficient system for inventors to submit new inventions while ensuring compliance with EU standards. /li liGenerate and present reports relating to the portfolio’s status, key performance indicators, and performance to senior management and stakeholders, with a focus on European market considerations. /li liWork closely with inventors and external counsel to draft high-quality patent applications that meet International and European Patent Office (EPO) standards. /li liIdentify key performance metrics to optimize the patent prosecution process. /li liSupervise the patent prosecution process, including responding to office actions and engaging with the EPO and national patent offices. /li liEnsure consistency with the company’s IP strategy and European patent regulations. /li /ul h3What will make you successful? /h3 ul liPreferred candidate will have at least 5 years of full‑time patent prosecution experience with a reputable law firm or company. /li liPrior corporate Intellectual Property management experience is a plus. /li liMinimum BS in Engineering or Physics; an MS or Ph.D. would certainly be valued (other engineering disciplines will be considered as well). /li liMust possess excellent interpersonal skills suitable engineering as well as executive management interaction. /li liLicensed to practice in front of the European Patent Office or equivalent European Patent Convention Country. /li liExcellent project management skills /li liExcellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills /li liProficiency in patent management software solutions. /li liAbility to work independently and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment /li liProficiency in reviewing and analyzing patents with the ability to summarize the scope of the patents and communicate such scope (both orally and in written form) to a variety of stakeholders /li liProficiency in various software programs/patent searching platforms, such as IP.com or Questel /li /ul pIf bYOU /b are the person we are looking for, feel free to apply and let’s start drafting your future career in a healthy and growing environment! /p pThe successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities. /p h3OUR CORE PRINCIPALS /h3 pSafety.
