Job Title: COBOL Developer (Banking Systems)Duration: ContractWorkload: Tempo pieno hoursSetup: Freelance (Daily rate / Limited Company / Umbrella / Sole Trader)Location: Bologna (3 days per week on-site)We are looking for a mid-level COBOL Developer to support and enhance core banking systems within a complex financial services environment.OverviewThe client requires an experienced COBOL Developer with a strong background in banking systems to work on core platforms supporting current accounts and critical transactional processes.Key Responsibilities:Develop, maintain and enhance COBOL-based applications within a core banking environmentWork on systems supporting current accounts, payments and transaction processingAnalyse business and technical requirements and translate them into robust technical solutionsPerform code optimisation, bug fixing and system enhancements in legacy environmentsCollaborate with analysts, testers and other developers to ensure system stability and performanceSupport production issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesMust-Have Skills:5–7+ years of hands-on COBOL development experienceStrong experience within the banking or financial services sectorProven exposure to Core Banking systemsSolid understanding of Current Accounts management systemsExperience working with large-scale legacy systems in regulated environmentsNice-to-Have:Experience working on-site in international or distributed teamsFamiliarity with batch processing and high-volume transaction systemsItalian language skills
