We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Architect Engineer. The candidate will operate within a system-level core team and interface with Agencies and Customers. Strong communication skills, a proactive problem-solving attitude, and teamwork orientation are essential. The candidate should have a solid background in mechanical/structural engineering to quickly define and manage complex mechanical system designs. Key duties include: Defining specific mechanical/structural requirements based on high-level customer needs. Supporting concept and trade studies in coordination with System Engineering to inform architectural choices. Defining mechanical architecture. Designing and analyzing metallic and composite structures, considering manufacturability and integration constraints. Developing and running simple FEM analyses to support sizing and design decisions. Preparing procurement specifications for structural systems and subsystems. Managing structures procurement and subcontractors up to delivery. Providing engineering support for manufacturing process development and qualification. Supporting hardware integration and final testing. Contributing to test plans and specifications for mechanical testing. Collaborating with Quality Assurance on NCRs affecting mechanical parts during manufacturing, integration, and testing. Participating in internal and external meetings and reviews. Skills, experience, and qualifications required: Master's degree in Engineering. Relevant space industry experience is mandatory. Experience managing subcontractors technically and programmatically. Leadership qualities for managing a technical team. Knowledge of structural requirements and solutions for space station modules, satellites, and re-entry vehicles. Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and techniques for mechanical components. Experience with analysis tools like NASTRAN and FEMAP is preferred. Proficiency in hand calculations and engineering judgment. Knowledge of fracture mechanics and fatigue is a plus. Strong teamwork and multidisciplinary approach skills. Availability to work in shifts if required. Problem-solving, analysis, and synthesis skills. Excellent English language skills (spoken and written). Respect for company hierarchy, rules, and discipline. Ability to work within budgets and schedules. Ph.D. and/or Master Seed in Space Engineering are highly valued.
