The Compliance Shared Services (CoSS) organization is building shared services for managing regulations. The SPIDER (Streamlining Planning, Deployment and Post-Release) team within CoSS handles the technical infrastructure and tools to proactively identify and resolve issues impacting Selling Partners. We are seeking a System Dev Engineer with experience in software engineering support or a similar role, with a proven track record of improving software development, business, and customer service processes, as well as technical support experiences.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced technical team member willing to take on challenging responsibilities, with a metrics-focused approach, customer orientation, and the ability to lead in fast-paced, multi-functional environments. If you fit this profile, we would love to talk to you.
Responsibilities include:
* Working with support engineers to enhance processes and service improvements
* Monitoring and improving operational efficiency
* Driving smaller development projects and building custom tools
Key responsibilities:
* Spending 50% of time on operational topics and 50% on development work, including root cause analysis of deployment failures and creating optimization tools
* Delivering software projects independently on critical service platforms
* Mentoring team members through design reviews and code reviews
* Implementing large-scale systems with automation and code
Leadership responsibilities:
* Leading process creation and improvement projects
* Mentoring and coaching less experienced team members
* Performing technical assessments and code reviews
* Converting hybrid requirements into short work phases
Required expertise:
* Software engineering and agile methodologies
* Test-driven design
* Operational and infrastructure disciplines
* Building complex data pipelines and rules engines
* Making engineering trade-offs for optimal solutions
Demonstrate strong understanding of software and hardware integration, identify opportunities for automation, and leverage change for quality and data-driven decisions in a multi-OS environment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
* 5-8+ years of professional software development experience
* 3-5+ years in systems-level programming
* Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python, Go)
* Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
* Experience with distributed systems and scalable architecture
* Knowledge of operating systems, networking, and databases
* Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
* Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
* Relevant technical certifications
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
* Experience with microservices architecture
* Background in performance optimization and system monitoring
* Experience in specialized domains (e.g., machine learning, security)
* Technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration experience
* Strong communication skills and experience with agile methodologies
* Open source contributions or publications
