Amazon seeks an experienced Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Senior Program Manager to support Japan business units within AMET, APAC, and LATAM (AAL) regions, partnering with the Global WHS Standards & Procedures Team.
This position, based at a Fulfillment Center in the Tokyo area, requires *****% domestic and international travel.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead document development, quality control, and publication processes within the WHS Management System.
Evaluate procedure requirements, manage implementation, and ensure the WHS MS remains current and effective across all operations.
Coordinate cross-functional teams and align multiple stakeholders.
Drive technical accuracy and analytical excellence in WHS standards.
Execute comprehensive audit programs with the Worldwide Audit team.
Lead change-management initiatives and process improvements.
Manage document control processes and quality management systems.
Facilitate effective communication across all organizational levels.
Educate WHS managers to conduct internal audits based on WHSMS requirements.
Collaborate with regional managers to mitigate gaps against WHSMS requirements at the network level.
Handle request management, provide impact analysis, and assess impacts on standard work and business operations.
Assist field teams with WHS conformity issues, including internal audit coordination and ISO ***** certification operations.
Prepare and support weekly/monthly business reviews and executive review meetings; lead procedure development upon CM approval.
Apply PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) principles and issue relevant internal communications and directives.
Update WHS MS repository publications and communicate procedure updates to end-users through appropriate channels.
Work closely with Learning teams and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive implementation of WHS standards and procedures.

Basic QualificationsDemonstrated experience in program or project management
Proven track record of using data analytics and metrics to drive process improvements
Demonstrated ability to develop program strategy, manage end-to-end delivery, and effectively communicate results to senior leadership
Advanced English language proficiency, both written and verbal
Relevant professional experience in workplace health and safety
Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a related field
Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or related discipline
Experience successfully leading process improvement initiatives
Experience with ISO *****, ****, and/or ***** certification processes
ISO ***** and/or ***** lead auditor certification or training
Comprehensive knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and legislation, including Occupational Safety and Health Act, Labor Standards Act, Fire Service Act
