The opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Trade & Compliance Officer to manage and oversee all aspects of import and export administration.
This role ensures compliance with international trade regulations and assists with the efficient movement of goods across borders.
You will contribute to operational planning and implement processes that drive functional results.
How You'll Make An Impact
Import Administration:
Manage and plan the import process, including customs documentation, shipping, and receiving foreign merchandise to ensure timely arrival compliance with custom rules.
Oversee the issuance of import licenses and completion of monetary transactions promptly.
Export Administration:
Control all documentation related to the export process, ensuring customers receive necessary documents to avoid delays. Monitor preparation and dispatch of customer export orders, planning and directing air and surface traffic to final destinations.
Supervise the correct invoicing process in collaboration with relevant functions such as Project Management, Logistics, and other departments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with home and foreign government laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
Monitor and interpret changes in trade laws and regulations, advising internal stakeholders accordingly.
Strategic Contribution:
Establish operational plans for the job area and develop new processes, standards, or operational plans that impact functional results.
Stay up to date with changes in trade legislation and regulatory requirements, and proactively communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
Communicate effectively and provide guidance on trade compliance strategies.
Your Background
Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Law, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in trade compliance, import/export administration, or international logistics.
Strong knowledge of customs regulations, export controls, and trade compliance frameworks.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
Strong communication skills in English (additional languages are an advantage).
