Overview
Auxologico is seeking a highly motivated laboratory technician at pre-doctoral level to join our research team. The successful candidate will work on the RHYTHMiC project, led by the Laboratory of Printed and Molecular Electronics at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. The RHYTHMiC consortium is funded by Fondazione ANTHEM: AdvaNced Technologies for Human-centrEd Medicine PNC – CUP B53C – Spoke 3, an initiative funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, within the Piano Nazionale Complementare (PNC). This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research for integrating printed organic semiconductors with human stem cell biology. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team with expertise in clinical cardiology, human genetics, electrophysiology and stem cell biology, alongside the expertise of consortium leaders in electronics, (bio)engineering and organic semiconductors. The candidate will be responsible for conducting cell biology studies, focusing on the culture and differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes to assess their functional properties on high-throughput chips for two aims: cardiac disease modeling and drug screening. The work site is Auxologico Cusano, Via Zucchi 18, Cusano Milanino.
Responsibilities
* Maintain mammalian cell cultures, particularly hiPSCs and their unipotent derivatives;
* Use innovative technologies for non-invasive functional characterizations of cardiac cells;
* Generate, analyze and interpret scientific data;
* Support ion imaging experiments and functional (drug) screening assays;
* Prepare scientific documentation and reports in English.
Qualifications
* Proven interest in cardiac arrhythmias research and/or cell biology;
* Strong expertise in mammalian cell cultures. Expertise on hiPSCs will be considered a plus;
* Experience with ion imaging techniques will be considered a plus.
Skills and competencies
* Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, innovative environments;
* Good knowledge of written and spoken English;
