We are seeking a highly experienced Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join our team in Rome. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Process Control and Instrumentation Engineering with significant experience supporting Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) projects during Appraisal Phase Studies (APS) and FrontEnd Engineering Design (FEED). As part of the owner's engineering team, you will oversee control and instrumentation engineering deliverables and ensure compliance with licensor requirements, particularly for licensed unit integration and revamp projects.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Lead control and instrumentation (C&I) engineering efforts for Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) projects during APS and FEED phases.
2. Act as the technical authority for Process & Safety Control systems in both new and revamp configurations of licensed units (ISBL / NPO scope).
3. Ensure full compliance with licensor’s intellectual property and control philosophy, especially for the integration and/or modification of existing units.
4. Supervise and review contractor deliverables including Control System Architectures, I/O Lists, Instrumentation Datasheets, Logic Diagrams, Cause & Effect Charts, and Control Narratives.
5. Support the selection and configuration of DCS, SIS, F&G, and related automation systems.
6. Interface with process engineering, safety, and operations teams to ensure functional alignment and optimal system design.
7. Participate in HAZOP, SIL classification studies, FATs, SATs, and control system integration reviews.
8. Drive consistency, quality, and technical integrity across all instrumentation and control-related aspects of the project.
Qualifications :
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Process Control and Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized university.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in control and instrumentation engineering roles within major oil and gas projects.
* Experience as Lead or Principal Engineer in Process & Safety Control for APS studies involving licensed HDS units.
* Proven ability to manage ISBL / NPO scopes, including integration of existing systems and revamp projects.
* Strong understanding of licensor coordination, proprietary control requirements, and compliance processes.
* Experience with major control platforms (e.g., Emerson, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Siemens).
* Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
* Fluency in Italian is essential; proficiency in English is required; French is a plus.
