Senior Electrical Project Engineer - Layout & E-BoP Designer

As an Electrical Senior Project Engineer Onshore, you will provide electrical engineering support to our renewable onshore energy projects in Southern Europe, focusing on farm/plant layout and electrical balance of plant (E-BoP) design.
Your Tasks
* Serve as the point of contact and take technical responsibility for electrical engineering during project development, construction, and operation, including:
o Preparing and reviewing concept/early engineering of E-BoP for onshore assets, collaborating with external engineering service providers as needed.
o Preparing and reviewing execution E-BoP designs, reports, specifications, and drawings to ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.
o Supporting regulatory and administrative filings such as environmental authorizations and building permits.
o Developing RFPs for engineering work, evaluating submissions, and making selection recommendations.
o Supporting tendering, negotiation, and procurement processes for the project’s E-BoP.
o Interacting with external consultants and reviewing contractor design documents for consistency with project requirements.
o Supporting grid connection processes, organizing technical documentation, test reports, and certifications.
o Providing technical management on-site during construction, including managing electrical engineering units for wind, PV, battery plants, and substations.
o Participating in factory and site acceptance tests of assets and components.
o Collaborating with the Construction Manager on E-BoP contracting and construction topics, including site visits as needed.
o Collecting and maintaining as-built drawings and documentation.
* Supporting technical due diligence for project mergers and acquisitions, analyzing simulation results, reviewing designs, and proposing solutions.
* Identifying market opportunities for electrical engineering contractors, leading benchmarking and prequalification processes.
* Enhancing specifications and designs based on operational feedback, harmonizing solutions with local requirements.
* Collaborating with development and construction teams, and within the global electrical engineering community.
Your Profile
* University degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Familiarity with Italian standards and experience with grid operators regarding market grid connection processes.
* Experience in electrical design, construction, and operation of wind farm electrical components (MV and HV).
* Proven experience in onshore wind farm design and optimization, including infrastructure and interconnection.
* Proficiency in Power Factory or similar software.
* Experience with tenders, project review, and QA/QC procedures.
* Understanding of power system analysis, contract management, and technical claims.
* Ability to work effectively in international and virtual teams.
* Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
* Fluent in English and Italian; additional languages like Spanish or German are beneficial.
* Strong social skills, high engagement, and intercultural awareness.
* High ethical standards aligning with RWE Renewables’ values and conduct.
