HSE Manager

The Person
We are looking for an experienced and proactive HSE Manager to lead and manage all health, safety, and environmental activities at our production site. Reporting directly to the Site Manager, the HSE Manager will ensure compliance with all applicable national regulations and internal company standards. The ideal candidate will act as the legally appointed RSPP and play a key role in fostering a strong safety culture across the organization.
Main Responsibilities:
* Act as the legally appointed RSPP (Responsabile del Servizio di Prevenzione e Protezione) in accordance with Italian legislation.
* Identify workplace hazards and assess risks through regular inspections and evaluations.
* Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and preventive measures.
* Manage and regularly update the Risk Assessment Document (DVR) and all related safety documentation.
* Organize and deliver HSE training sessions for employees and contractors.
* Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses; implement corrective and preventive actions.
* Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and corporate guidelines
* Act as a liaison with local authorities, certification bodies, and external HSE consultants
* Prepare for and coordinate internal and external audits and inspections
* Collaborate with all departments to promote safety awareness and continuous improvement
* Monitor environmental aspects such as waste management, emissions, and regulatory compliance
Candidate Profile
Hard Skills
* Deep knowledge of Italian HSE legislation, particularly D.Lgs. 81/08
* Experience in risk assessment, accident investigation, and safety planning
* Strong ability to deliver effective training and manage HSE documentation
* Good command of English (spoken and written); other languages are a plus

* Leadership and the ability to influence safe behavior at all levels
* High attention to detail and sense of responsibility

Education
* University degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related technical field.
* Valid RSPP qualification (Modules A, B, and C) as required by Italian regulations.
Experience
Proven experience in HSE roles, ideally as an internal RSPP within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
