Responsibilities and Duties
- Analyze market trends, supply chain risks, and demand forecasts.
- Develop sourcing strategies for assigned commodities aligned with company goals.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities through sourcing, process improvements, or value engineering.
- Benchmarking; identification of new (backup) sources and continuous improvement of the supply base to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain (quality and timing) at optimal TCO.
- Managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts, terms and planning.
- Troubleshooting supply problems.
- Ensuring the completeness and integrity of supplier data, purchasing records and related documentation.
- Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years' experience as a commodity manager or in a similar position in an industrial environment.
- Proven track record in the procurement of technical products.
- Sound knowledge of procurement and supply chain management.
- Supervisory and leadership experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in German and English.
- Critical thinking and strong negotiation skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
Education
- University degree in sourcing, supply chain management, business administration or a related field.
