Position: Regional Finance Officer (RFO) – Middle East and Eurasia
Reporting to: Regional Finance Manager (RFM) and Head of Administration Unit
Location: Milan or Bologna; remote work possible within Italy or abroad

Purpose of the Role
WeWorld seeks a Regional Finance Officer (RFO) for Middle East and Eurasia. Reporting to the Head of Administration Unit and Regional Finance Manager, the RFO ensures accurate and compliant financial reporting, manages project archives and accounts, and supports process development, monitoring, and capacity building of finance staff in the region.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Accounting:
* Assist the RFM with checks on country accounting and periodic reconciliations following WeWorld procedures.
* Maintain accounts for regional responsibilities and support setup for accounting software.
Financial Reporting & Audit:
* Gather supporting documents for expenses at HQ for external audits.
* Verify archived documents in countries.
* Support the RFM in preparing expenditure verifications and audits.
* Review project financial reports for compliance with donor and internal rules, monitoring deadlines.
Monitoring & Capacity Building:
* Conduct monitoring and capacity building missions on the field.
* Assist in training and capacity development of finance staff.
* Provide technical advice on finance and administrative matters to countries.
Additional activities will be arranged as needed.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications and Knowledge:
* Degree in Economics, Political Science, or related fields, or equivalent.
* Fluency in Italian and English.
Professional Experience:
* At least 2 years in a finance/accounting role within the NGO sector.
Skills and Abilities:
* Strong accounting skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office and Internet.
* Resourceful problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize and create efficiencies.
* Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Strong commitment to WeWorld’s mission and international development topics.
* Integrity and cultural sensitivity.
Desirable Requirements
* Experience at HQ or regional level.
* Experience in humanitarian or development projects on the field.
What We Offer
Contract Type: Initial 6-month contract with objectives, renewable based on performance.
