OverviewWithin the Chief Compliance Officer function of Generali Investments Holding, the Data Protection team carries out the core responsibilities typically assigned to the Data Protection Officer for three Italy‐based entities, in accordance with applicable European and Italian personal data protection regulations.The Data Protection team also performs oversight and coordination activities for EU‐based Generali business entities to ensure their compliance with personal data protection requirements.Data Protection Officer activities
Provide specialized advisory support to business functions on activities with an impact on personal data protection requirements, including: (i) conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments, (ii) managing complex negotiations with data processors, (iii) drafting and reviewing complex privacy notices for data subjects, (iv) assessing and handling personal data breaches, and (v) managing data subjects' rights requestsPerform monitoring and control activities to verify the level of compliance of the companies with GDPR and draft the relevant control reportsSecond level revision of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GDPRProvide support in preparing training materials on personal data protection topicsDraft the DPO reports of activities and plans to be submitted to the senior management and Board of Directors
Oversight and coordination activities
Liaise with the Data Protection Officers of the EU‐based Generali business entities in relation to data protection related mattersCollect and assess information to evaluate the level of exposure to personal data protection risks of the EU‐based Generali business entitiesSupport global/local projects and initiatives identifying and providing solutions for data protection related matters
Requirements
University level degree or comparable, preferably in law, political sciences or economicsExcellent knowledge of English (C1 level)Successful track record of at least 5 years in legal or internal control functions of financial institutions or in law firms assisting financial institutions, with a specific focus on compliance and data protection mattersAdequate knowledge of the relevant European and Italian legal framework applicable to asset management companiesAbility to work in complex environments, with a view to being able to discharge the assigned tasks with a high level of autonomyAdequate knowledge of internal control systems and processes commonly adopted in financial institutions
