SSAs are technologists with deep domain‑specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. You will provide technical expertise to help grow the adoption of a portfolio of services that includes Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, Amazon Elastic Container Registry, and AWS App Mesh. You will also help shape the future of the container industry, working with customers who have complex challenges that require expert‑level knowledge to solve. /p h3Key Job Responsibilities /h3 ul liHelp U.S. Federal Civilian Government organizations implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems. /li liOwn the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects. /li liDefine implementation architectures, respond to RFPs, and develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform. /li liRepresent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product road‑map. /li liProvide advanced technical knowledge to domain‑aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges. /li liAct as a thought leader, sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and public‑speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent, etc. /li liDevelop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject‑matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures. /li /ul h3A Day in the Life /h3 pThe Solutions Architects on our team provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to the Federal Government. They lead efforts to capture and share best‑practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community. Typical activities include meeting with customers, collaborating with AWS technical product managers, working with others to build and test demonstrations and proofs of concept, and writing technical content such as blog posts and papers. /p h3About the Team /h3 pThe U.S. Federal Specialist Solutions Architecture Team consists of Security, Networking, Hybrid Edge, GEN AI, Containers, and GovCloud Specialist Solutions Architects located across the U.S. The team is vertically aligned and supports the U.S. Federal customer base consisting of some of the largest, most complex AWS customers. The team operates on key tenets including being domain experts who provide thought leadership with deep AWS expertise, taking ownership of specialist engagements, maintaining contextual knowledge, scaling through reusable assets, gathering customer feedback, and maintaining alignment with the broader AWS community. /p h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul li3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures. /li li5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries. /li li4+ years of specific technology domain experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data analytics). /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liExperience working within software development or Internet‑related industries. /li liExperience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud. /li liExperience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective. /li liIntermediate/advanced knowledge of AWS services. /li li5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience. /li li5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing Kubernetes environments at scale. /li liProven experience architecting containerized applications and microservices architectures. /li liStrong background in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline implementation using Kubernetes. /li liExperience managing multiple Kubernetes clusters. /li liDemonstrated expertise in Kubernetes security, networking, and storage concepts. /li liProficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Helm) for Kubernetes deployments. /li liExperience troubleshooting complex distributed systems and container‑based applications. /li liExperience within the Federal Government. /li liUnderstanding of infrastructure and security requirements, such as FedRAMP Moderate/High, HIPAA, DoD SRG, CJIS. /li liCurrent, active U.S. Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above. /li /ul h3Benefits and Salary /h3 pThe base salary range for this position is listed below. For salaried roles, your Amazon package will include listed sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
