To support our Company’s growth, we are looking for a Space Missions Engineer who will be part of our Systems Engineering Unit. In this role, you will contribute to the development and leadership of innovative space missions based on Small Satellites, with a primary focus on the technical coordination and management of a multi-disciplinary project team.

DUTIES
As a Space Missions Engineer, you will act as the Lead System Engineer for the mission development projects. You will ensure that every mission meets its end-to-end technical objectives, while leading and coordinating the technical project team toward successful mission implementation.
The activities will include (but are not limited to):
- Lead the end-to-end development and coordination of space projects from phase A to phase E, taking of all the interfaces and interactions between Space Segment, Ground Segment and Launch Segment;
- Manage of technical project’s schedule and implementation on short- and long-term basis (knowledge of JIRA, MS Project are preferred) on tools like JIRA;
- Day-to-day coordination with the Technical Team, Program Manager and Product Assurance Manager;
- Daily interface with Platform Systems Engineering, V&V; Systems Engineering and AIT Engineering;
- Coordination and supervision of activities of each subsystem responsible.
- Definition, management and review of technical requirements and specifications;
- Support the definition of Mission Concepts of Operations and Mission profiles;
- Iteration with procurement department according to mission needs;
- Contribution to the system engineering plans, including design, development plan, and verification plan;
- Supervision and coordination of technical reviews execution and data packages delivery with customers and suppliers;
- Involvement in Quality Assurance/Product Assurance activities such as (external/internal) NRB and NCR management, Configuration and Control Processes.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree in Aerospace, Space Engineering or related technical field;
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably as a Lead System Engineer on space/satellite projects;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams;
- High flexibility and team-working capability;
- Hands-on and proactive approach;
- Pragmatic approach to problem solving;
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary and international teams;
- Excellent written and oral communication in English.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Proven experience in managing space projects and multi-disciplinary technical teams;
- Strong ability to prioritize and supervise technical activities;
- Knowledge of mission phases and related activities;
- Previous experience in design, development, and qualification of satellites;
- Demonstrate a good understanding of satellite architecture and design;
- Knowledge of System Configuration Control and Management;
- Excellent knowledge of system engineering tools and processes;
- Experience in managing industrial activities, including reviews;
- Familiarity with aerospace standards (ECSS, MIL, NASA STD);
- Knowledge of space component technologies and European Small Satellite market.
ADDITIONAL ASSETS
- Experience with Model-Base Systems Engineering (MBSE);
- Experience applying Agile principles to technical project management;
- Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence;
- Experience with CubeSat and SmallSat platforms;
- Experience with in-orbit spacecraft operations;
- Performed projects review under ESA supervision;
- Familiarity with private Space sector dynamics.
