Join a diverse team driven by innovation and excellence, and help shape the future of space. This role is available in Lisbon and Fino Mornasco. Role Spaceflight Operation Engineer – from the mission control centre you will command and control D-Orbit's Fleet of Carriers and Reconnaissance and Servicing Vessels. You will conduct end-to-end mission operations, from design to execution, from launch to final deorbiting. Activities include satellite tasking, telemetry dump and post-processing, contingency and ground operations, failure detections and recovery, as well as operations planning and scheduling and flight dynamics as part of D-Orbit's Spaceflight Operations team duties. Responsibilities Command and control the company's proprietary satellites and their payloads Detailed operations requirements and design definitions Interface with subsystems and software teams to define use cases, on-ground and on-orbit operations Support to ground systems and integration with space segment On-orbit operations procedures definitions and verification On-orbit operations planning, scheduling and execution throughout the missions Flight dynamics maintenance and manoeuvre planning Anomaly identification and resolution Authoring of technical documents Qualifications and Requirements Knowledge of System Engineering, Orbital and Attitude Dynamics Knowledge of Spaceflight Operations Knowledge of flight dynamics tools (Orekit, GMAT, etc.) Knowledge of Ground Segment architectures Experience with scripting languages (Python) Availability to work outside normal office working hours Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proactive attitude and ability to work in team and individually Experience in spaceflight operations and/or AIV processes is a strong plus Knowledge of spaceflight dynamics and manoeuvre planning is a strong plus Familiarity with On-Board Control Procedures concepts is a plus Education Advanced University degree (master's degree or equivalent), preferably in Aerospace/Space Engineering Language Full professional proficiency of English language is mandatory Notes Availability to work by shifts is necessary Diversity and Inclusion At D-Orbit, diversity and inclusivity are integral to our mission.
