Join our Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), Global Medical and Health (GMH) Team and take a pivotal role in driving occupational health excellence across Italy. As the Regional Health Manager, you will oversee and lead the delivery of Occupational Health (OH) services within Italy, acting as the subject matter expert to ensure the health and well-being of employees in line with global standards and local regulations.
Key job responsibilities
1. Provide strategic direction and manage Occupational Health services across Italy, ensuring high-quality support and compliance with local health, safety, and medical regulations.
2. Serve as a subject matter expert on Occupational Health, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders and liaising with local authorities and occupational health bodies.
3. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation changes affecting workplace health and ensure compliance with Amazon’s policies and all local health, safety, and medical regulations.
4. Define, monitor, and report health-related metrics to the WHS Global Medical and Health (GMH) Team Leadership to measure program success, identify areas for improvement, and inform global and regional health strategies.
5. Oversee the proactive identification, assessment, and mitigation of workplace health risks, including physical and psychosocial factors, and develop programs to safeguard employee well-being.
A day in the life
You will provide strategic leadership and oversight for Occupational Health services and preventive health management programs. Collaborating with a team of WHS professionals and health experts, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and local health authorities to identify and mitigate workplace health risks. As a subject matter expert, you will guide occupational health, regulatory, and compliance matters, serving as the primary point of contact for localizing health policies. You will have the opportunity to shape health programs across Italy by leading cross-functional initiatives and partnering with health professionals, ensuring employee safety and well-being while strengthening organizational partnerships.
Basic Qualifications
* Degree-qualified Physician specialized in Occupational Health, registered in Italy.
* Clinical experience and knowledge of Italy Occupational Health legislation and requirements.
* Experience leading Occupational Health services.
* Expertise in Injury or Illness Prevention (Ergonomics, Psychosocial risks, Environmental risks, Industrial Hygiene), including delivering preventative healthcare programs.
* Experience managing first aid and emergency response services and standards.
* Strong communication, leadership, teamwork, analytical, judgment, and customer focus skills, with result-oriented working methods and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to support executive priorities with strong writing and communication skills.
* Data-literate with a project/analytic mindset, beyond clinical expertise.
* Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
* Postgraduate studies in occupational health management, health sciences, health promotion, health economics, or related fields.
* Additional qualifications in Ergonomics, Psychosocial risks, Environmental risks, Industrial Hygiene, or similar.
* Experience in health management within retail, logistics, manufacturing, or production environments.
* Creative problem-solving skills and innovative ideas.
