JOB DESCRIPTIONReporting to the Technical Manager of d’Amico Ship Management, you are a strongly motivated individual eager to grow in an international Group. You will be closely cooperating with your manager and liaising daily with vessels and colleagues from the d’Amico Group locations worldwide.She / he is responsible for monitoring and controlling of the ship’s technical maintenance and certification of assigned vessels;vessel expenses budget allocated on his rolechecking the status of the PMS system in relation to expired planned maintenance and scheduling of works on monthly basis.reporting to the Senior Superintendent and Technical Manager any contingency or vessel structural /machinery failure which comes to his knowledge and may lead into hazardous or risk situation for the crew, the vessel and its cargo;promptly reporting any major no-budgeted expenses;coordinating and scheduling vessel class/statutory inspections ;arranging, follow up and reporting technical support of specialized engineers if so necessary in consultation with senior Superintendent;planning /reporting in cooperation with vessel crew corrective repairs of revealed deficiencies, failures and non-conformities raised from vessel inspection;participating in the Emergency Group Ashoreexamining machinery performance/health satus and highlight / report warnings for appropriate action in consultation with Senior Superintendent;examining bunker/lube oil analysis, and highlight to the vessel non conformities and recommendations in consultation with Senior Superintendent;carrying out on board vessel inspection, review undertaken works, examine vessel conditions, report any deficiency and work to be done;reviewing with tech mngr the vessel class status at each new entrypreliminary reviewing the intended DD machinery spec related to inside /outside ER machinery in consultation with senior supt.; to arrange/report full DD spec and preliminary tender comparison.supervising and reporting drydocking works /substantial repairs, verify compliance with approved specification, check works reliability, review measurements /readings records, jobs report, review and concur pro-forma invoice.examining and concurring vessel request of services or materials, services reportevaluating and reporting crew performance as per Company policy; She / he has to maintain in office following documentation in accordance to company procedures: record of maintenance and works carried out;track records of deficiencies /failure and non-conformity follow up;updated list of work to be done;on board supt’d inspection report;updated list of vessel coating assessment of cargo, ballast and void compartments;reports and records of Classupdated Class survey status and Flag Administration certificates status;analysis report;records /of drydocking works and measurements;copy of services reportupdated list of vessel drawings and equipment maker instruction;updated of ship’s certificates She / He is authorized to inspecting the vessel, carry out checks and necessary testingassigning task to officers and master on activity to be undertaken by crew staff while vessel at drydock;assigning task to vessel Master /CE while vessel in operation.approving vessel cash expenses for prompt repair /purchase.committing with Master for crew bonus on specific extraordinary works Requirements and work experiences 3 (three) years documented experience as engine officer and 2 (two) years as assistant superintendent orUniversity degree as mechanical engineer and 2 (two) years as assistant superintendent orUniversity degree as naval architect and 2(two) years as assistant superintendent or5 (five) years documented working experience on ship repair or new buildings and 1 (one) year as assistant superintendent or3 (three) years documented working experience as superintendent in reputable shipping company Leadership skillsCommunication skillsInterpersonal skillsTeam-workingProblem solvingPlanning and Organization Technical Skills IBC, IMDG, BC Code: Knowledge of Codes operational and tech overviewEnvironment: Knowledge of environmental awarenessISM Code: Knowledge of ISM CodePort State Control: Knowledge of Port State Control common deficienciesClass and Statutory: Knowledge of classification and statutory requirementEquipments: Knowledge of tanker/cargo vessel plant equipment (i.e. IGS inert gas, Framo Ballast & Cargo Systems, cargo cranes, hatch covers)Inspections and repairs: Knowledge of hull structure inspection and damage and coating repairDrydocking: Knowledge of dry-docking planning and surveyPMS/CBM: Knowledge of PMS and CBM Language skills - Independent use of English language in a working environment (minimum B2)PC skills – Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), ABS NS
