Job Description
As a Business Controller you will provide finance and business leadership to specified Brand / Disease teams. As a finance representative within a cross‑functional setting (Country Value Teams) you will play a key role in supporting and driving sales projections and investment decisions, promote budget education and accountability, build trust by delivering compliant financial statements, and manage risk. You will also participate in regional finance projects or workstreams to shape the finance function for the future, including digital transformation. You will report directly to the Sr. Finance Director Italy and contribute to an engaging, collaborative, mindful team that supports the BU Finance vision for the J&J Innovative Medicine Italy Operating Company.
Responsibilities
* Finance partner to specified Business Unit Leads; manage operating expenditures and sales forecasting; provide business rationale and recommend resource allocation decisions; influence outcomes using fact‑based data.
* Drive initiatives in the local Finance team to implement the global finance transformation program.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives of local finance processes.
* Responsible for the assigned elements of the business plan and challenge business partners on assumptions.
* Manage projects through collaboration with relevant stakeholders across multiple functions.
* Support the digital agenda and actively shape the future of the finance function.
* Maintain the highest compliance standards while processing day‑to‑day tasks, assigned monthly/quarterly journal entries, accounting controls, and reconciliations.
Qualifications
* 8 years of relevant work experience with strong finance, accounting, and business acumen.
* Preferable Master’s degree in Economics or Finance.
* Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Industry an advantage.
* Strong collaborative communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust among business leaders and finance colleagues.
* Ability to influence business partners with fact‑based data.
* Experience in finance transformation processes, including digital skills.
* Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills.
* High degree of intellectual curiosity and ability to drive outcomes.
* Team player with a positive can‑do attitude and agility to flex multiple work streams fluidly.
* Fluency in Italian and English (both oral & written) is a must.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (required) and PowerPoint. Power Platform skills are an advantage.
