🔧 Key Responsibilities
- 🔍 Identify and select materials for energy-critical systems (turbines, exchangers, piping, offshore structures)
- 🧪 Perform mechanical, metallographic, chemical, and thermal testing on metals, composites, and coatings
- 🛠️ Evaluate resistance to corrosion, fatigue, creep, and extreme environments
- 🤝 Collaborate with designers and suppliers to define technical specifications
- 🧬 Operate and manage lab instrumentation (SEM, XRD, tensile, impact, hardness)
- 🧯 Analyze material failures and degradation in operational settings
- 🧭 Support maintenance teams with failure analysis and material upgrades
- 📋 Define inspection and quality control procedures for incoming materials
- 🌱 Research sustainable, recyclable, and high-efficiency materials for energy transition projects
- ⚡ Contribute to R&D; in renewable energy (solar, hydrogen, batteries)
- 📚 Ensure compliance with ASME, ASTM, ISO, PED, NACE standards
- 📝 Prepare datasheets, certifications, technical reports, and documentation
🎓 Qualifications
- Degree in Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in materials evaluation, preferably in the energy or plant engineering sector
- Strong knowledge of material behavior in energy environments
- Hands-on experience with failure analysis and material characterization techniques
