We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join our Legal Department. The role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, international retail environment, providing legal support across a broad range of commercial agreements, with a primary and sustained focus on real estate-related matters supporting the company's property portfolio and operational needs.The position is well suited to a junior-to-mid level legal professional who has developed a solid experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation, and who has either built, or is keen to further develop, hands-on expertise in real estate transactions. The role mainly involves drafting and negotiating real estate agreements (including asset purchases and going-concern transactions), with appropriate support and supervision from senior legal colleagues.You will act as a trusted legal partner to the business, delivering practical, timely, and business-oriented advice, while progressively strengthening your expertise in complex real estate and commercial matters.Key Responsibilities Commercial Contracts with Real Estate Focus Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, with a strong emphasis on real estate contracts, including: Commercial and retail lease agreementsLease amendments, renewals, assignments, and terminationsSale and purchase agreements for real estate assetsAsset purchase and going-concern transactions (with supervision as required)Letters of intent, MOUs, and term sheets
Support real-estate acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, and portfolio management activities, assisting with legal documentation, coordination, and closings.Assist with legal due diligence for real-estate transactions and portfolio reviews, identifying key risks and contractual issues.Broader Commercial & Operational Contracts Draft and negotiate ancillary and operational commercial agreements connected to the company's activities, including: Service agreementsFacility management and maintenance contractsUtilities, energy, and property-related service agreementsLogistics, warehousing, and other operational contracts
Support contract lifecycle management, ensuring alignment with internal standards, policies, and risk guidelines.Legal Advisory & Risk Management Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice on commercial and real-estate matters to internal stakeholders.Ensure agreements comply with applicable laws, internal policies, and best practices.Identify legal and contractual risks and support the implementation of appropriate mitigation strategies.Assist in managing real-estate-related disputes or claims, coordinating with external counsel when required.Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Real Estate, Finance and Operations teams.Contribute to legal support for store openings, renewals, relocations, and closures.Develop a strong understanding of the business and commercial context to tailor legal advice accordingly.Qualifications & Experience Law degree with strong academic credentials and bar qualification required.Between 4 and 6 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years in a reputable law firm (mandatory).Proven and solid experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.Experience in retail, consumer goods, logistics, or asset-heavy industries is a plus.Basic knowledge of company law and extraordinary corporate operations is an advantage.Full professional fluency in English (written and spoken).Key Skills & Competencies Strong drafting and negotiation skills across commercial contracts.Sound understanding of real-estate transactions and contractual risk allocation.Commercially minded, with the ability to deliver pragmatic, business-oriented legal solutions.Clear and effective communicator, capable of translating legal concepts into practical guidance.Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.Well-organized, able to manage multiple matters simultaneously.High attention to detail, reliability, and professional integrity.Motivation to learn, grow, and progressively take on greater responsibility.Why Join Us?
