In both the Allison Transmission and Allison Off-Highway Drive and Motion Systems business units, our team strives to Improve the Way the World Works. /p pLearn more about this role and how you can beginem driving your career forward! /em /ppbr / /ppstrongPrimary Purpose of Role /strong /ppThe Functional Safety Engineer (FuSa Engineer) shall ensure compliance with functional safety standards for off-highway systems, primarily electrified traction systems and hydrostatic transmissions. /pp Responsibilities include hazard and risk analysis, definition of safety requirements, development of safety concepts, and support for verification and validation activities in accordance with ISO 13849, ISO 19014, and ISO 25119. /ppbr / /ppstrongKey Responsibilities /strong /ppstrongProject execution /strong /ppPerform and/or coordinate all necessary functional safety engineering activities, as defined in the OH System Engineering processes and best practices. /pulliUnderstand what are the stakeholder’s Functional Safety needs from the product: /liliInteract with customers and internal stakeholders to collect input FuSa requirements. /liliGuide customers with little or no prior FuSa experience in defining requirements. /liliFacilitate a sign-off of all involved stakeholders. /liliDefine the system-level concept of our product: /liliSpecify the safety goals / Safety Functions for the development. /liliDefine the Functional and Technical Safety Concept of the product. /liliTranslate customer needs to design input for each of the teams: /liliLead the creation of a system FMEA. /liliExecute or coordinate the execution of HW metric calculations. /liliSupport the hardware and software design specifications. /liliSupport and monitor development, integration, verification and validation activities: /liliLead the creation of an integration and test plan, with focus on the FuSa aspects of the development. /liliLead the creation of a safety manual as part of the product documentation. /liliPerform or ensure execution of quantitative analysis of the electronic hardware. /liliMonitor and control FuSa-relevant activities of the different design and engineering teams. /liliDocument the project’s Safety Case. /liliSystematically record, analyse, monitor, and report on metrics relevant to the FuSa activities. /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongContinuous improvement /strong /ppActive role in supporting the Functional Safety Engineering team as well as the broader OH Engineering teams to achieve excellence in their system engineering activities: /pulliSupport other teams in growing functional safety engineering maturity. /liliDefine techniques and tools to improve functional safety engineering efficiency. /liliActively support FuSa team process improvements. /liliFollow up of new Fusa related regulations or standards. /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongCompetencies and Behaviors /strong(cg3) /pulliemHard skills /em: /li /ulpEssential: /pulliSystem Engineering expertise for complex mechatronic systems, including electronics (hardware and software), hydraulics, and mechanical components. /liliExpertise in electrified drivetrains, including solutions with one or more inverters and electric motors for traction systems. /liliExpertise in hydrostatic transmissions. /liliProven theoretical and practical knowledge of: /liliISO 13849 /liliISO 25119 /liliISO 19014. /liliincluding categories, Performance Level (PL), MTTFd, DC, and CCF. /liliPerformance Level (PL) calculation (including use of tools such as SISTEMA). /liliRisk assessment and safety evaluation (Hazard Analysis, Risk Reduction). /liliFMEA / FMEDA / DFMEA (failure mode identification and mitigation). /liliSafety architecture design (redundancy, safe state, fault tolerance). /liliDiagnostic principles and Diagnostic Coverage (DC) (fault detection, periodic tests). /liliKnowledge of safety-related components (sensors, actuators, safety PLCs, relays). /liliMTTFd and B10d calculation (component reliability). /liliFamiliarity with related standards (IEC 61508, IEC 62061, EN ISO 12100). /liliAbility to read and interpret electrical and logic diagrams. /liliSafety compliance documentation (Safety Requirements Specification, Validation Plan). /liliFluent in English (writing speaking). /li /ulpbr / /ppConsidered as a plus: /pulliKnowledge of ISO 26262 for automotive functional safety. /liliKnowledge of EN 1175 and EN 1459. /liliKnowledge of Machinery Regulation -
