Position overviewThe responsibility of the Bid Manager is to deliver a winning proposal according to customer requirements, Alstom processes, Ethics & Compliance Values and Signalling Solution strategy.He/She ensures that all bids submitted are in line with the QCD (quality cost delivery) objectives and gives support to the Sales Leader up to the contract award.The Bid Manager reports directly to Bid Management leader and he/she will work in strong liaison with tender team, Sales Leader and all the stakeholders involved, internal and external.ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with applicable rules, values and instructions (e.g. Code of Ethics & Compliance, Railways Safety...)Work in close relationship with Sales leader and the full tender team including involved unitsPrepare the full technical documentation necessary to submit to Customer (technical description of offered solution, project master schedule, draft the price list…)Define the offered solution in order to be compliant with detailed requirement capture and all the stakeholders’ requirements and strategyManage QCD reviews and optimizations. Obtain clear commitments from different actorsPrepare risks & opportunities reviewsKeep records of the documentation produced for tender preparationParticipate to the contract negotiationsManage the budget of tender preparation cost according to Tender Cost Authorization ProcessSkills & ExperienceNecessaryProject management background, including Risk management and Planning expertiseGood practices of costing and financial risksHigh communications network, reporting capabilitiesHigh capability to stimulate efficient team working to produce the tender documents within a limited time periodBe able to challenge proposals to obtain optimal solutions backed with commitmentsDemonstrate integrity and be fully involved in Alstom Ethics & Compliance ValuesDemonstrate excellent communication skills and able to guide, influence and convince others in a matrix organizationAnticipation and problem solvingSense of urgency and managing priorities to be compliant with tender executionFluent in Italian and EnglishDesirableGood knowledge of railway signalling products and systemsKnowledge of additional languages like French, Russian, German, Spanish is a plusFinance and Legal sensitivityContract ManagementThe position is located at one of our office (Bologna, Florence, Rome or Bari) and will require regular travels (domestic and international missions).Performance measurementAble to understand Customer needs and to articulate how the organization can satisfy themProvide documents in time and in compliance with tender requirementsGross Margin degradation between tenders and projectsCompliance with tender cost budgetData updated and recorded (compliant with processes and legal constraint)Alstom is the leading company in the mobility sector, solving the most interesting challenges for tomorrow’s mobility.
