Job Summary
The Quality and Continuous Improvement Engineer (QCIE) is responsible for managing three main areas:
1. Prysmian continuous improvement program, managing the Quality Continuous Improvement projects portfolio together with local teams worldwide.
2. Operations digital projects, being an active member both on the current projects and the future developments.
3. Training and support to local teams, organizing and executing workshops on continuous improvement methodologies and other quality related skills and tools.
The QCIE works closely with other departments and with a high degree of autonomy to ensure that activities and projects get executed on time and achieving the planned objectives.
The QCIE is also required to perform data analysis and make technical presentations about the activities.
Core responsibilities :
To manage the Quality Continuous Improvement projects portfolio. This includes:
4. Analyzing and validating the project proposals received from the local teams
5. Establishing regular follow-up activities aimed at ensuring proper project execution
6. Working with local quality improvement teams to provide training and support on improvement methodologies
7. Maintaining the project library, including completed projects used as case studies
8. Assigning the A3 Sensei and Junior certifications based on defined merit criteria
9. Connecting with the lean Six Sigma BBs and GBs for regular best practice exchanges.
To organize and execute training sessions on the A3 methodology to local teams. This includes:
10. Evaluating requests from local teams and training needs arising from the performance on Quality and Manufacturing KPIs
11. Defining the early training schedule, the session's agenda, and training material
12. Connecting with the local teams to structure the real-case scenarios that will be analyzed during the workshops
13. Leading the workshop sessions execution with the local teams
14. Providing support to the local team between the sessions
15. Ensuring projects are properly followed up and completed according to the training content.
To participate in the development of digital projects relevant to Operations. This includes:
16. Working with Digital Innovation to identify and select use cases
17. Collaborating with the local team to build the use-case scenario and define the project scope
18. Following up activities with external partners, managing directly the communication and the decision process
19. Supporting the collection of data and process information used to feed the digital model
20. Supporting the model validation process, its implementation, and follow-up activities until project closure
21. Identifying and highlighting to the project team potential issues that may impact the project schedule.
To support the FastTrack program extension, focusing on quality functionalities development and consolidating actual implementations. This includes:
22. Gathering a proper understanding of the general FastTrack functionalities, focusing on those relevant to quality management (control plans, autocontrols, report)
23. Supporting the program team and the local teams in the fit-gap analysis and the definition of new requirements
24. Supporting the local team in the project implementation
25. Analyzing issues and bugs for a faster and more effective corrective action
26. Ensuring the local team properly understands the use of the application
27. Ensuring data consistency and alignment with group reporting.
Skills and competencies :
28. 5 years of experience in a technical role (technology or manufacturing).
29. Good knowledge and experience in the basic quality improvement tools (e.g., Pareto charts, cause and effect diagrams, etc.).
30. Basic knowledge of the Lean Six Sigma methodology.
31. Ability to identify potential problems, either technically or procedurally, propose solutions, and involve other colleagues in forming these solutions when necessary.
32. Effective communication, negotiation, and team working skills. Ability to understand the work environment's context and respond with flexibility to the actual situation's needs.
33. Accuracy and Proactiveness.
34. Management of inter-departmental and multinational relations.
35. Very good use of MS Excel in respect of data analysis (e.g. Pivot tables) and good understanding of SAP.
Other requirements:
Limited duration travel is required.
