Credit & Collections Manager
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Credit Management
Define and implement credit policies and procedures.
Assess creditworthiness for new customers and approve or reject credit applications.
Monitor credit limits and payment terms for existing accounts.
Negotiate payment arrangements with delinquent customers.
Analyze credit data and recommend improvements.
Communicate credit decisions across relevant departments.
Collections Management
Direct and oversee collection strategies and activities.
Track and report on overdue accounts.
Build and maintain partnerships with collection agencies.
Handle escalated customer complaints and inquiries.
Approve write-offs and account adjustments.
Establish collection policies and procedures.
Provide regular training to collection teams.
Reporting & Analysis
Prepare and present performance reports for credit and collections.
Monitor trends and identify improvement opportunities.
Forecast cash flow and propose optimization strategies.
Collaborate with internal teams to enhance processes.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Relationship Management
Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners (banks, credit bureaus).
Work closely with sales and customer service to resolve credit and collection issues.
Represent the company at industry events and maintain a professional image.
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor the credit and collections team, setting clear goals and KPIs.
Provide feedback, guidance, and foster a collaborative work environment.
Keep team members updated on industry trends and best practices.
Your Profile Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in credit & collections.
Previous experience managing a team is preferred.
Planning & Scheduling: Develop project plans, milestones, and timelines aligned with strategic goals.
Budgeting: Manage budgets, allocate resources, and monitor expenses effectively.
Resource Allocation: Optimize personnel and tools to meet objectives.
End-to-End Project Management: Lead improvement projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and measurable results.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications such as Certified Credit and Risk Analyst (CCRA) or Certified Credit Executive (CCE).
