Job Summary
Responsible for accounting entries, financial compliance, and monitoring of internal controls (US “SOX”) for relevant entities / assigned businesses. Including, but not limited to, monthly General Ledger (“GL”) reporting, preparation of journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP and country-specific local GAAP.
Contributes to the timely preparation and submission of statutory accounts, VAT filings, tax returns, and other compliance documents for relevant entities. Collates and submits data required for external and internal audits, working in collaboration with group specialists.
Builds excellent relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues, including Corporate and EASST (European Accounting & Shared Service Team) personnel, Business Finance teams, and site leadership and management.
Main Tasks
1. Participate and assist in the execution of the accounting close for your entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial data compilation:
* Complete tasks and track progress against a detailed month-end calendar for the closing process.
* Prepare and post monthly journal entries in Blackline, ensuring calculations are supported.
* Follow accounting policies to ensure compliance with US GAAP, company policies, and Country GAAP standards.
* Provide updates on progress to EASST & Corporate management as required.
* Support the presentation of the monthly accounts.
* Assist with the preparation and submission of group reporting information.
2. Balance Sheet Management
* Prepare and post monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring calculations are supported.
* Minimize accounting risks through appropriate communication with EASST management.
* Understand and meet the expected standards of balance sheet management.
3. Income Statement Management
Support all audits related to your entities, including US GAAP external audits, local statutory audits, tax authority audits, and internal audits.
4. Compliance and Stakeholder Relations
* Ensure timely preparation of VAT filings, tax returns, and other compliance documents.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
5. SOX Compliance
* Maintain a robust Sarbanes-Oxley (SoX) control environment.
* Engage in open dialogue regarding SoX matters and escalate issues proactively.
6. Additional Responsibilities
* Undertake tasks as reasonably requested by your line manager.
* Ensure work is conducted according to Standard Operating Procedures and quality standards.
* Maintain a safe working environment by following safety procedures and using protective equipment.
