The Role
The Materials Program Manager (MPM) is responsible for the management & delivery of the product financial health for groundbreaking, highly integrated consumer products. This person has a business orientation and is responsible for working within the local and remote operations, engineering and software teams driving development, implementation & management of the product budget. This person is the business voice responsible for capturing, documenting & communicating financial exposures & outlay as it relates to their product. They are involved throughout all stages of the product family's lifecycle to ensure Lab126 achieve all financial targets through end-of-life. They will support weekly executive product line reviews outlining performance against budget, target & actual cost.
In this role, you will:
* Work with engineering and the supply chain team to set program cost targets at a commodity level for your project
* Track the program actual costs versus target to identify program deltas & corrective actions to bring back on track
* Attend sustaining programs & new product introduction meetings to understand the cost implication of engineering &or process changes as related to your product fully loaded cost targets
* Work with the Contract Manufacturer to set your product purchase order cost for the upcoming period
* Manage purchase price variance claims resulting from engineering changes, component obsolescence or forecast variance
* Drive the supply chain & operations team to provide detailed cost reduction forecast that enables you to meet & exceed your product goals
* Work with the Lab126 Management team to ensure predictable, accurate forecasts for your products
* Present weekly executive management cost reviews that deep dive through every aspect of your product cost
Key Job Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities involve total cost management of your assigned programs. This includes management of BBOM, CBOM, MPPO, Cost negotiation, working with engineering and cross functional organizations to deliver cost reduction initiatives. Provide & highlight industry cost trends on key commodities. Drive AI solution for MPM key deliverables & manage component costs for E&O.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent
* 3+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience
* Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
* 3+ years of managing complex technology projects working directly with engineering teams
* 3+ years in supply chain and/or manufacturing of consumer products
* Excellent analytical & communication skills
* Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes & coordinating release schedules
* Experience interpreting data & making business recommendations
* Meticulous attention to detail & commitment to accuracy
* Strong business acumen combined with technical aptitude
* Proven track record of complex & creative problem solving and the desire to create new processes or simplify & improve on current ones
* Ability to influence others & facilitate agreement among stakeholders with different interests
Preferred Qualifications
* Master’s degree preferred.
* Experience interpreting data & making business recommendations
* Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements
* Experience with consumer electronics, preferably streaming media players or smart TVs.
* Ability to prioritize tasks & maximize internal resources.
* Experience leading & defining requirements & driving closure.
* Product Data Management system experience.
