The Role

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain secure, high‐performance RESTful APIs using Java
- Contribute to system architecture and scalability initiatives
- Ensure code quality through testing, peer reviews, and best practices
- Work on complex integrations with external and institutional systems
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and production issues
- Collaborate closely with other engineers in an agile environment
Tech Environment\n
- Backend: Java (Spring / Spring Boot), PHP
- Databases: PostgreSQL
- Infrastructure: AWS
- Development Tools: Git, CI/CD pipelines
- Collaboration: Jira, Confluence, Slack
Requirements\n
- 3+ years of experience in backend software development
- Strong knowledge of Java and API‐based architectures
- Experience with REST APIs, authentication, and security principles
- Solid understanding of relational databases and performance optimization
- Familiarity with testing methodologies (unit, integration, functional)
- Autonomous, analytical, and quality‐oriented approach
- Knowledge of AWS and Infrastructure as Code
- Good command of English, written and spoken
- 2-3 days in the office in Ferrara city
