What we do
As Business Development Director you will partner with clients and their agencies to develop digital strategies to transform their success, identify their business challenges and collaboratively shape solutions that drive their strategic initiatives, demonstrating how The Trade Desk can enhance their online presence.
Your understanding of online media, along with your communication skills and analytical capabilities, will drive growth of new and existing business. Using your influencing and relationship-building skills, you provide first-class client service, research and market analysis.
You anticipate how decisions are made, persistently explore and uncover the business needs of clients and understand how The Trade Desk suite of products can help them grow their business.
The Business Development Director will have a dual role: working with agency and clients in given verticals and helping The Trade Desk increase penetration in Italy with retailers. This role mixes finding and managing new and existing portfolio relationships with deploying a Retail media strategy for the country. The Business Development Director will work closely with the Data partnership team to accelerate the growth of retail data adoption with the ultimate goal of helping major strategic advertisers in the Italian markets.
What you’ll do
* Partner and consult with customers in the given industries.
* Co-developing effective digital Advertising strategies, especially within the retail media space.
* Increase The Trade Desk’s product knowledge and adoption within retailers.
* Optimize client advertising investment and grow the business.
* Analyzing data trends and client performance to generate industry insights.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to develop strategic sales plans, and prepare and conduct transformational pitches and sales presentations.
* Develop case studies of successful campaigns to share insights with customers and participate in industry events and conferences.
* Work closely with internal business development teams and client services teams to identify the next “big bets” and develop a solid pipeline of potential clients.
* Participate in product road map build-out discussions based on client needs with senior leadership, product, and engineering.
Who you are
* Although this is a remote role. You must be based in Rome.
* Bachelor’s Degree required, masters preferred
* Experience within the online advertising ecosystem; tech sales experience highly preferred
* Existing relationships with decision-makers at media agencies and brands
* Strong communication skills with the ability to speak with C-level clients
* Strong quantitative skills and negotiation ability
* Proven track record of exceeding revenue expectations
* Fluent in Italian and English
* Advanced level online media experience, with a deep understanding of programmatic Advertising and a good knowledge of how integration works in adtech
* Comfortable operating with the ambiguity of a startup operation, and the ability to influence others without authority
